Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how RouteMate, an app by Ruberg Dev (“we”, “us”), handles your information. By using RouteMate you accept the practices described here.

Information we collect

RouteMate can be used without an account. When you create an account, we collect:

• Routes, route history, saved places and preferences you create. Without an account, these stay locally on your device.
• When you create an account: your email address, Supabase user ID and the data you choose to sync, such as saved routes, history, places and preferences.
• When you grant location access, the device's current location is used to set a start point. RouteMate does not store continuous GPS location.
• When you search for a place, the search is sent to MapTiler to find map locations. GPX files are generated locally and shared through your device's sharing system.
• Limited, privacy-filtered crash and performance data may be sent to Sentry when error reporting is enabled in the app version.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to provide and improve RouteMate — to run your account, store the content you create, and send the notifications the app offers. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

Where your data is stored

Without an account, routes, history, places and preferences stay on your device. With an account, synced data is stored with Supabase in the EU. RouteMate does not store GPX files unless you choose to save them in another app or service.

Third-party services

We only share data with the providers needed to run the app:

• Supabase — Optional authentication, database and cloud synchronisation for routes, history, places and preferences.
• MapTiler og OpenStreetMap — Provide maps, map tiles and place search. OpenStreetMap contributors provide part of the underlying map data.
• OpenRouteService — Calculates routes when server-based routing is enabled. Route requests are processed through RouteMate's server adapter.
• Sentry — Receives limited, filtered error data to help detect and fix crashes. Location, route geometry, email and tokens are filtered out.
• Apple — Provides optional Sign in with Apple and distributes the app through the App Store and TestFlight.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at contact@rubergdev.com to exercise your rights or request deletion of your account and associated cloud data. Local data can be deleted in the app or by uninstalling the app.

Children's privacy

RouteMate is not directed at children under the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
