HomeSheltr

Last updated: August 1, 2026

This privacy policy explains how HomeSheltr, an app by Ruberg Dev (“we”, “us”), handles your information. By using HomeSheltr you accept the practices described here.

Information we collect

HomeSheltr can be used without an account. When you create an account, we collect:

  • You can use the app without an account. In this mode, your inventory, household counts, settings and barcode cache stay only on your device.
  • When you create an account, we store your email address (or Apple's private relay address), a Supabase user ID and an optional display name for sign-in, synchronisation and sharing.
  • The preparedness inventory you enter: item names, categories, quantities, units, expiry dates, notes, storage locations and sharing/invitation information.
  • Product photos you choose to add may be uploaded to Supabase Storage for synchronisation and sharing.
  • When you scan an unknown barcode, only the EAN/barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts for a product lookup. We do not retain camera images from scanning.
  • We record article opens using the article ID, language and a random installation ID to understand which articles are used. When you are signed in, an event may also be linked to your user ID.
  • For a Pro subscription, Apple processes the purchase, while RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription status plus an app user ID. We do not receive card or payment details.

How we use your information

We use your information solely to provide and improve HomeSheltr — to run your account, store the content you create, and send the notifications the app offers. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.

Where your data is stored

Without an account, app data stays on your device. With an account, account data, inventory data, sharing data and any product photos are stored with Supabase in the EU. Expiry reminders and the annual preparedness check are scheduled locally on your device. Article statistics are stored with Supabase.

Third-party services

We only share data with the providers needed to run the app:

  • SupabaseAuthentication, database, file storage, real-time synchronisation and internal article-open statistics.
  • RevenueCatHandles Pro subscription status and the app user ID. Does not receive card details.
  • AppleProvides Sign in with Apple, processes App Store payments and distributes the app. Apple handles the payment; we do not see card details.
  • Open Food FactsReceives only the EAN/barcode number when the app looks up an unknown product.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account and associated cloud data directly in the app via Profile → Delete account. Deleting the app or cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete your account. For other requests, contact us at contact@rubergdev.com. We retain account data while your account is active and delete it when the account is deleted.

Children's privacy

HomeSheltr is not directed at children under the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
